We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and creative Senior Social Media Strategist and Videographer to join our team at a plastic surgery practice. This dual-role position requires a forward-thinking individual who can develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies while also creating high-quality video content that aligns with our brand's voice, image, and goals. The ideal candidate must be exceptionally proactive, be comfortable working in a surgical environment (you will spend extensive time in the OR), and be engaging when interacting with patients while also keeping patients’ privacy in mind. You will have a deep understanding of social media trends, exceptional videography and editing skills, and the ability to drive engagement across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Social Media Strategy & Management
- Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies to increase brand awareness of our practice, engagement, and follower growth across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook
- Conduct competitive research and audience analysis to identify new opportunities and trends within the social media landscape in the surgical field.
- Create and curate content calendars, ensuring consistent posting schedules on all platforms
- Monitor, analyze, and report on the performance of social media campaigns, using insights to optimize content and strategies
- Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms to ensure maximum effectiveness.
2. Videography & Content Creation
- Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for social media, marketing campaigns, and other digital platforms.
- Work closely with the head surgeon to conceptualize video ideas that resonate with target audiences and convey surgery procedures effectively.
- High level of efficiency and being able to shoot a surgery / procedures, edit the relevant content, and post to social media channels on the same day.
- Interview patients for testimonials, follow-ups, and professionally edit before and after photos and videos.
- Manage all aspects of video production, including lighting, sound, editing, and post-production, ensuring each video is polished and professional.
- Develop engaging video content formats, including short-form videos, surgery explainers, interviews, behind-the-scenes, live streams, and promotional videos.
- Maintain and organize video assets, including raw footage, project files, and completed videos, for easy access and reuse.
- Ensure that all video content is optimized for different platforms and devices, focusing on both quality and performance.
3. Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with surgery practice’s staff to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for content and marketing campaigns.
- Provide guidance and support to other team members on best practices for social media and video content.
4. Analytics & Reporting
- Track and measure the effectiveness of social media strategies and video content using analytics tools.
- Compile regular reports on key metrics, presenting findings and actionable insights to surgeon and relevant staff
- Adjust strategies based on data-driven insights to improve engagement, reach, and conversions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Film/Video Production, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in social media strategy, content creation, and videography.
- Proven track record of growing social media presence and driving engagement with specific examples.
- Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and experience with camera equipment and lighting setups.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices.
- Excellent storytelling and creative thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills both with surgeon, patients, and practice’s staff
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Additional Requirements:
- Portfolio of previous social media campaigns and video projects.
- Efficient working in a very fast paced environment (4 surgeries a day)
- Comfortable with filming and editing surgical content
