Responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategy to increase undergraduate student enrollment in the Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education and Communication. Responsible for presenting degree requirements, student involvement opportunities, scholarships, and internship/career opportunities to prospective students and their families for majors in ALEC. This position will represent the ALEC Department at on- and off-campus events including high school visits, college fairs, College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources events, and other external events. This position will also provide statewide leadership and coordination for the World Food Prize Nebraska Youth Institute. This position requires occasional nights and weekends.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years’ experience in marketing, event planning, teaching, sales, or program delivery is required. Experience must demonstrate ability to project organization’s image in a professional, articulate manner; well-developed writing skills; and good organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience with word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software. Experience must demonstrate ability to work in diverse teams and follow through on multiple tasks at one time.
All applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a DMV background check authorizing them to operate university vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education, agricultural and environmental sciences communication, or education. Four (4) years’ experience in marketing, event planning, teaching, sales, or program delivery is required. Small to large group presentation skills.
