Job Title: Yoga & Fitness Coordinator - Full-Time

Department: Facilities

Reports To: Facility Manager

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Summary: The Yoga & Fitness Coordinator oversees the daily operations of the yoga and fitness studio, develops programming and schedules, hires and schedules instructors, monitors and educates patrons on safety, teaches yoga and fitness classes when required, and maintains a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructs 6-8 minimum scheduled yoga & fitness classes per week.
Ability to teach various class styles and/or willingness to learning new formats.
Substitutes for teachers who are unable to teach classes.
Main point of contact for both students and teachers regarding scheduling, class, and facility information.
Assists students and maintains a positive experience for members and class participants.
Acts as a resource for students and teachers, providing workshops, trainings, and continuing education opportunities.
Ensures that safety standards are met.
Implements the facilities' policies and procedures and ensures that they are adhered to.
Actively participates in classes at the facility and provides instructors with constructive feedback.
Inputs data from student liability waivers and updates emails.
Develops programming in the yoga studio as well as the kids programs in the fitness studio.
Market current and new programs (social media posts, emails, flyers, etc.)
Attend a weekly in-person or phone meeting with the Facility Manager and keep management informed of customer and facility needs.
Performs other related duties as required.

Professional Requirements:
Holds a 200 Hour Yoga Certification through an accredited yoga school.
Remains up to date with continuing education hours through Yoga Alliance.
CPR Certification required.
Previous teaching experience in a group setting required.
Self-motivated, with excellent communication and customer service skills.
Punctual, reliable, organized and responsible.
Proficient in Google Drive and Microsoft programs including Word, Excel & Publisher.
Ability to learn computer software and programs used in the facility.

Qualifications: The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess current Red Cross CPR certification, Certified Instructor (ACE, AFAA) or equivalent. Additional specialty/certifications preferred. Have working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles. Have working knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, technique, and rhythm. Ability to be professional and motivate class participants. Ability to cooperate and work well with other staff members.

Other Qualifications: Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
