Maintain a positive presence in the Hanover Community, develop and maintain current programs of The Salvation Army, work with current volunteers and recruit new volunteers as needed to maintain programs and network with other community agencies.

Respond courteously and promptly to all types of communication. Maintain phone log.
Provide intake and referral services for Salvation Army clients in the Hanover, PA Service Unit and the surrounding assigned ZIP codes insuring confidentiality of all client information, according to policy and protocol.
Provide monthly statistical reports to Regional Manager.
Maintain a positive relationship with Foundation Grant Donors. Provide statistical reports as necessary.
Provide intake for government and other agency funding programs; maintain all records within established guidelines for each program.

Organize and coordinate seasonal programs:
Camp Recruitment
Back-to-School Program
Christmas Program
Red Kettle Campaign
Prepare all thank you letters to donors and advise Regional Manager when available for proper signature(s).
Maintain accurate files for all programs in accordance with Service Extension Department standards set by Regional Manager.
Keep inventory management, reorder office supplies as necessary, and maintain office cleanliness.
Assist in training volunteers and maintaining volunteer policies.
Attend training seminars as required
Develop and implement strategies that will provide the community with awareness of all services that the Salvation Army provides
Serve on the committees related to case management, emergency assistance and networking opportunities as requested or appointed.
Establish and maintain fundraising efforts in Hanover
All other duties as assigned by Regional Manager.
High School Education with 5 years secretarial experience and/or extensive work history in diversified setting. Associates in Social Services preferred. Working knowledge of computer programs including Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Access, and Lotus Notes. Excellent telephone and all other communication skills. Ability to work effectively with persons seeking assistance. Self-motivated and self-directed. To be able to prioritize work and have a quick response to those in field. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
