Full Job Description
The mission of the Division of Surgery is to advance oncologic surgery in the nation and the world through safe, high-quality, multidisciplinary patient care, research and education. Our vision is to be the most transformative oncologic surgery program in the world. The Division of Surgery is comprised of nine specialized departments that provide efficient and exceptional services.
Animal and Laboratory Studies
Perform rodent studies, tasks will include mouse colony management, breeding, and genotyping. RAI will also monitor progress of experiments, necropsy, and prepare tissue samples for histological processing. Perform laboratory studies using complex techniques including tissue culture, nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, immunoblotting, and immunohistochemistry. In vitro assays include cell viability experiments, 3D experiments, isolation/processing/characterization of extracellular vesicles, invasion and migration assays. Presents results of experiments on a regular basis to principal investigator
Organize Experiments, Protocols, and Databases
Maintain clear record of all experimental work performed in laboratory notebooks and complete all documentation with clear and accurate language. RAI will compile and review data, write reports, and present in lab group meetings
Communication and TeamWork
Clear written and oral communication skills are required. RAI will collaborate with multidisciplinary team, including faculty, laboratory scientists, and clinical researchers and contribute to the study designs of ongoing projects. Assists in ordering, maintenance and preparation of laboratory reagents and buffers.
Maintaining and growing plants for EVs, isolating and studying EV characteristics, genetically engineering plants for drug development.
Education Required: Bachelor's degree, major course work in one of the basic sciences.
