Administrative Manager – National Defense
Manage administrative staff within the National Defense business unit, reporting into the Program Management Advancement function.
What you’ll do:
Work with program management and management staff to determine administrative staffing requirements. Assign staff to support department and program needs, both classified and unclassified.
Direct the work of current team of administrative employees.
Review resumes, conduct phone screens, in person interviews, and suggest and recommend the hiring of administrative candidates to support the business area.
Implement effective onboarding and new hire training for selected candidates.
Coach and mentor team members and create environment for knowledge transfer and cross-training.
Write and conduct performance appraisals with input from others as applicable.
Ensure tasks are completed according to departmental requirements and schedules.
Ensure administrative staff is properly trained and receive the guidance and direction needed to accomplish their work assignments in an efficient and cost-effective manner while observing all applicable work rules, safety rules, department directives, and company policies.
Recommend and guide the implementation of new administrative policies or procedures.
Prepare and maintain required records and reports in accordance with Ball Aerospace policies and government regulations.
May track departmental budget expenditures and be accountable for overhead budgets related to administrative personnel training and charging.
May provide support for other hiring efforts across National Defense including reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, etc.
Ensure that all business is conducted using the highest standards and in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, and regulations as well as company policies and directives.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
What you’ll need:
BS/BA in a related field plus 8 or more years of related experience, including prior management experience.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, clean room, or production floor.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
Successful applicant for this position must be eligible to obtain a DoD clearance or government customer access to classified/sensitive material. A current DoD clearance is not required to be eligible for this position, however the successful applicant will be required to obtain a DoD clearance or government customer access within a reasonable time after the offer is extended and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance. *US Citizenship is Required.
