Position Summary:
Lead and coordinate review process for capital projects that support the company’s annual capital expenditure plans. Responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of the Kroger Financial Development Program . Provide financial support to company leaders regarding capital intensive initiatives. Develop, summarize, and communicate financial insights to senior management. Coach, mentor, and develop talent within Kroger Finance through the establishment of a cross functional finance support function. Essential Job Functions:
Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; completes performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
Review Real Estate, Kroger Technology, Merchandising, Manufacturing and Operations capital investments
Lead the financial support function for Strategic Initiatives, including Kroger Way Plans
Lead the design, implementation, and administration of the Kroger Financial Development Program
Work with leaders across the organization to identify finance talent requirements and resource allocation
Oversee the KFDP program design, including talent acquisition, onboarding, training, and development
Comprehend and execute special requests from senior management with short lead times and little supervision
Present findings and make recommendations to senior management with clarity and confidence
Coach and develop department team members and the broader financial organization
Represent Strategic Planning on strategic committees by taking an advisory board seat
Lead the preparation of capital expenditure and financial presentations for all divisions in the enterprise
Coach divisions regarding store portfolios
Travel to divisions for real estate and financial strategy meetings, training and development

Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years prior accounting/finance/statistics experience
2+ years of managing direct reports with demonstrated experience coaching and developing finance talent
Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks
Knowledge of Excel, Word, Quick Sales, Business Objects, and Essbase
Strong analytical skills
Excellent written communication skills
Ability to manage direct reports
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to lead projects and work with contacts outside the department and company

Desired Previous Job Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Real Estate
10+ years prior accounting/finance/statistics experience
5+ years of managing direct reports with tangible experience coaching and developing financial talent
Experience with internal Kroger systems; KCMS-DW, ELMS, etc.
Retail industry experience
