As a Director of Construction, you will oversee all of the new construction, renovation, and capex projects of a multimillion dollar, multifamily portfolio comprised of apartment home communities.
Roles You'll Play:
Design master plans for large, fully-functioning communities by performing due diligence, preparing bid packages, completing development plans, ensuring compliance, and meeting building codes.
Identify, contract with, and manage the right people and companies to do the work.
Stand behind green initiatives and always seek new ways to construct more energy-efficient apartments.

Prepare division and project budgets with aggressive yet attainable goals.

THE TEAM LEADER:
Fearlessly lead the construction division, setting annual departmental goals, communicating performance requirements, monitoring progress, and creating monthly tracking reports.
Share your wisdom and insights with the team, prioritize their tasks, make sure they follow protocol, and motivate them to go above and beyond the call of duty.
Recruit new team members, supervise the hiring and training process, and make sure everyone has the tools they need for peak performance.
Mentor your extended staff, reviewing their progress and motivating them to achieve new heights.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PROFILE:
All of your construction projects are completed on time, within budget, at the highest level of quality and with a green emphasis.

Project managers, field staff, and administrative personnel consistently set new performance records thanks to your outstanding leadership and training.
*Stellar record (10+ years) of real estate experience, specifically in the multifamily construction field.
*Bachelor's or higher degree in construction, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
*Solid communication and leadership skills to elevate your relationships with contractors and suppliers.
*Proven and effective project management, negotiation, procurement, budgeting, and estimating skills.
*Analytical problem-solving skills coupled with hiring, training and scheduling proficiency.
