The Position
The City of Cedar Park is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Crime Analyst.

Collects, collates, analyzes, disseminates and evaluates crime data to create reports and bulletins identifying trends, patterns, and changes in criminal activity;
Prepares and develops crime summaries, intelligence analysis, statistical reports, spreadsheets, charts, maps and diagrams, to present findings related to criminal activity, patterns, and trends;
Prepares predications based upon previous reported activity, patterns, and trends;
Gathers and analyzes crime data from crime pattern detection, suspect-crime correlations; target suspect profiles, and crime forecasting;
Conducts briefings and presentations of analytical findings and presents conclusions to Police Administration;
and more.
Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses
Bachelor's degree in Business, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Statistics and Research Methodology, or a related field plus two (2) years of administrative and/or analytical experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Crime Analyst Certification through a recognized group such as Alpha Group, IALEIA, or IACA, preferred.
