Position Summary:
The person in this position will support the planning and execution of all fundraising events held both on and off campus. S/he will be responsible for working with members of the fundraising team to develop, plan, implement and evaluate a wide variety of events, the largest of which is the annual auction benefit (Gator Bash). Recruiting and working closely with volunteer committees will be a key to our success. S/he must work in concert with the strategic goals of the Development Office while working in close partnership with the Head’s Office and the Business Office. In addition, this individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with donors, facilities and food service staff and vendors.

Duties and responsibilities:
All aspects of producing each event are the responsibility of this person, including: sponsorship package development and solicitation, auction item requests, event logistics, vendor management, budget tracking, communications, program content development, and volunteer and staff management. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of event planning experience and be a positive person equipped to handle multiple events at one time with grace and good humor. This person should possess superb interpersonal skills to interact effectively with sponsors/donors, guests, volunteers, employees, vendors and others. Nonprofit experience is preferred.

  • Experience making donation requests and securing sponsorships. Equivalent sales experience will be considered.
  • Excellent computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Office and the use of auction and event management software
  • Possess great attention to detail and demonstrate the energy and dedication to take a project from start to finish
  • Exceptional record-keeping, time management and communication skills
