Position Overview

The DevOps Team takes a multidisciplinary approach to solutions delivery combining knowledge of software engineering and system administration to streamline and improve the software pipeline. We are looking for someone who has a passion for developing innovative solutions to help internal customers, adept in learning new languages and technologies, and possesses a strong commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Serve as Subject Matter Expert for software deployment and delivery
Design and manage a continuous integration system across the enterprise which includes SCM/CM, automated testing and automated notification of results.
Provide day-to-day support to manage development tools, code repositories and utilities currently deployed, upgrading when necessary in the least disruptive manner.
Work across functional (development/testing, deployment, systems/infrastructure) and project teams to ensure continuous operation of build and test systems.
Maintain build environments, build history, and communicate results.
Troubleshoot compile and build failures, and facilitate resolution.
Integrate test automation harnesses into the continuous integration system to support quality objectives.
Improve speed, efficiency and scalability of the solutions delivery pipeline, automating wherever possible.
Contributes to an atmosphere of cross-functional teamwork within the organization.
Assist with the setup and deployment of third-party solutions and their integration with solutions developed by Penn Mutual.
Complies with all company and site policies and procedures
Remains current in profession and industry trends
Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements
Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience
Experience

Hands-on experience with Linux/Windows system administration
Strong scripting experience
Experience with open source technologies
Strong experience in automation and configuration management including and not limited to,
Repository tools, SVN and/or GIT
Build Tools, ANT, Maven, Gradle
Expert knowledge of build automation platforms such as Jenkins with hands-on experience in building and deploying enterprise-level applications
Expert knowledge of Build Systems and experience with build-time dependency management
Development experience in so far as to be able to support development teams who use our CI system
Experience with unit testing and code-coverage tools

Preferred Experience

Containers and Application Servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere
Writing test cases for automated deployment verification
Experience integrating OWASP tools within the CI framework a plus
Groovy Script and/or Jenkins Pipeline
Experience with Java or Python
Experience with configuration tools such as Puppet or HashiCorp
Experience with Big Data analytics platforms such as Apache Spark
Experience with a NoSQL DB such as Cassandra or MongoDB
Experience with deployment in a Cloud environment such as AWS.
Familiarity with Rundeck, Jira, and Confluence
Experience with Build or Release Engineering

Education/Licenses/Professional Designations

Bachelor’s or higher-level degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
