Leading New Jersey based healthcare organization is seeking a take-charge individual to work with the Director/Controller and provide leadership to the department while overseeing the accurate and timely processing of our bi-weekly in-house payroll function, including supplemental, bonus and adjustment payrolls.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Processing and reviewing bi-weekly and all supplemental payrolls
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting and payment of payroll taxes as well as submission of quarterly 941’s and annual W-2 forms
  • Managing payroll staff to ensure accuracy of data input, form completion, and responsiveness to employee payroll inquiries
  • Preparing and filing quarterly and annual tax returns for the State and Federal jurisdictions
  • Monitoring the payroll system to ensure functionality after system upgrades and working with support to address issues
  • Assisting IRS, State of NJ, Social Security Administration and DOL on payroll related issues
  • Ensuring all policies and procedures are met and adhered too by the department
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements
  • Handling other related tasks as necessary

Successful candidate will have a Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Accounting or closely related field, along with 5 years’ of progressively responsible hospital or healthcare related finance experience. The ability to provide effective leadership, as well as monitor, review and analyze departmental initiatives that align with strategic plans will be expected, as will solid knowledge of payroll operations. Superior problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, oral/written communication and PC skills are all essential.
