Job Description
The Associate Director Premium Coffee is…
a key member of the Coffee Cross-Functional Leadership team.
accountable for developing the overall brand strategies, plans, and programs and guiding a team through delivery
responsible for leading identification of powerful consumer insights to unlock growth, whitespace opportunities, new product concept ideas, and impactful communications
a main stakeholder in all functional activities for the brand(s), including consumer insights, new product development, sales, operations, and finance, resulting in strengthened marketing fundamentals and a holistic approach to driving business growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead 3 direct reports to deliver business goals and priorities. Interaction with others requires highly developed skills to motivate, inspire and persuade to execute key brand initiatives
Create consumer demand for assigned brands/categories and formulate the brand's long-term strategy
Develop portfolio strategy and evolution of the product line to best meet consumer and retailer needs
Implement marketing initiatives in support of long-term strategies through leadership of the cross-functional team
Lead development of 3-year innovation road map
Drive new product development including concept, pack, product and go-to-market plans
Lead cross-functional commercialization team to deliver product and packaging changes, including quality improvements, cost reductions and new item launches
Lead negotiations on new product opportunities or developments within set time-scales and budgets
Own development and implementation of integrated marketing communications and media plans
Own the P&L for respective brands and categories and accountability for delivering profit, volume, and market share objectives
Manage annual marketing budget and lead annual budget planning for the category
Coach, develop, and motivate direct reports to own specific processes, targets, and deliverables
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field. MBA is not required but preferred.
10 to 15 years of experience (min 5 years in marketing, product management, or brand management preferred)
Domain Expertise
Advanced experience in product management, brand management and managing a P&L
MS Office proficiency
Experiences
Experience overseeing a product from concept through commercialization and customer sell-in
Experience leading and managing cross functional teams
Experience coaching, developing, and motivating direct reports
Individual Skills
Proven leader, collaborator, and team player
Excellent communication skills with comfort in speaking with business stakeholders
Problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and progress
