Our agency head is Secretary Lee Norman, who was appointed by Gov. Kelly in Jan 2019. We are made up for three divisions: Public Health, Environment, and Health care finance (which includes KanCare). Position Summary & Responsibilities
Serves as the point-of-contact and TA provider to local coalitions within assigned region that are receiving KDHE grants, such as Chronic Disease Risk Reduction (CDRR). Conducts bi-monthly progress report calls and bi-annual site visits with CDRR grantees. Ensures accountability of CDRR grantee progress, quality progress entries and alignment of approved work plans. Participates in CDRR RFP development, review and technical reviews for awarded grantees in assigned region.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Contributes to CDC progress reports, summarizing outcomes from grantees in assigned region. Assists communities in strategic planning and researching funding opportunities, applying for grants, and monitoring progress in meeting goals and objectives of grants received. Presents recommendations to the chronic disease prevention state staff on the appropriate interventions to be used in the region, resources needed for those interventions, and other matters designed to support the prevention of chronic disease. Shares regional program information on weekly staff conference call and monthly staff meetings.
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
Licensing & Certification:
Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
Four years of experience planning, developing, implementing, coordinating and/or providing social or human services to the public or community.
Education in public health, community health, food and nutrition, kinesiology, planning or related field may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
Experience in physical activity, nutrition and obesity programming
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to express oneself clearly and effectively
Ability to research, organize and present health information and health promotion materials

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate Required:
