Amgen is seeking a Finance Manager at its corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the U.S. Business Operations (USBO) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. The Finance Manager will report to the Finance Director and will be responsible for providing financial, analytical, decision support to multiple commercial and support functions in the U.S region.
Key activities for the Finance Manager include:
Lead financial expense planning processes for $1.5B+ in operating expenses in the Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasts, and Quarterly Accounting Close including headcount management and departmental capital.
Prepare and present operating expense results for various department managers and communicate expense plans and results.
Prepare standard and ad hoc expense analyses including headcount related costs and outside expenses.
Master’s degree and 2 years of accounting or finance experience
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of accounting or finance experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of accounting or finance experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of accounting or finance experience
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
Working knowledge of key finance systems (Hyperion planning and ad-hoc reporting, SAP)
Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations
Experience supporting senior leaders of an organization as an FP&A business partner or in some other advisory capacity
Problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to identify and solve vaguely defined problems
Possess a continuous improvement mindset
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence at all levels
Ability to take initiative and work within a fast-moving environment
