Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides intense supervision, performs mandatory face-to-face contacts, monitoring and reporting of youth awaiting court hearings, placement or community control.
Provides close supervision, contact and surveillance of youth referred to pre-trial monitoring.
Maintains communication with parent/guardian of youth on surveillance on a weekly basis.
Troubleshoots, installs, retrieves, and exchanges electronic monitoring equipment at client homes.
Participates in identified trainings to stay in compliance with best practices.
Maintains daily log of each client caseload for file. Maintains file on each client with all schedules, contacts, school logs and any relevant correspondence for the duration of time they are on the program.
Inputs any contact or relevant information about clients into the appropriate computer system daily.
Checks for compliance of given schedules and locations of all youth being monitored electronically each day using the electronic monitoring vendor's website. Contacts clients through face-to-face visits weekly using the Graduated Response Matrix and can effectively work with volatile clients.
Uses the Court's iCase computer system to track court hearings, keep up with court orders, and information regarding client charges daily.
Establishes relationships in the community with supporting professional to strengthen enforcement of pre-trial monitoring rules.
Makes referrals to appropriate community agencies, health centers, etc.
Completes various reports and documentation related to child's behavior, accountability and pre-trial monitoring statistics.
Submits court reports detailing statistics, behavior, observations, level of compliance, and all pertinent information for all scheduled court hearings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Has no direct supervisory responsibility for staff members.
Pre-trial monitoring security equipment such as computers, cameras, telephones, and electronic monitoring bracelets.
All court-related information regarding hearings, etc. that the employee may come in contact with by working in the facility.
While performing duties of this job, the employee frequently sits, walks and stands. Employee will conduct a large majority of his or her time performing field work outside of the office. While supervising offenders, they may interact with others, such as family members, schools and friends of the offender, who may be upset or difficult to work with. Occasionally handles emergency or crisis situations; frequently subject to interruptions, and multiple calls and inquiries. Employee must be available to work 2nd shift, 3rd shift, and weekends as required by the schedule and be available via court-issued cell phone 24/7 including holidays and weekends.
Usual Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, to speak clearly, and to hear. Must be willing to work in varied weather conditions and for long periods of time in a vehicle.
Must pass a pre-employment physical exam.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; skills in interviewing; knowledge of juvenile justice and juvenile behavior; understanding of adolescent growth and development; human behaviors and family dynamics, maintains confidentiality, culturally competent, manages stress, provides crisis deescalation and should have a working knowledge of community resources. Must possess basic computer skills and have knowledge of Microsoft office; bilingual and an ability to sign are preferred. Must be available 24/7 via mobile device or phone as required.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or related area
One (1) year of work experience with juveniles or relevant field experience
Licensure or Certification Requirements
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and maintain valid automobile insurance, with a clean driving record and ready access to a safe functioning automobile.
