Dominion National, a rapidly growing and leading provider of dental and vision benefits has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Human Resource Generalist in our Arlington, VA office.
The Technical Lead is responsible for managing technical priorities in Agile Sprints, WBS, Code Reviews, Release Management, CI/CD, support of assigned systems, serving as a liaison between development team and manage the development of new system functionality, upgrades, system modifications, and day-to-day problem analysis, issue tracking, and resolution. The Technical Lead will lead a team of full-stack developers in the role of scrum-master but also provide expertise in the role of technical architect for system design, development and maintenance. Other duties as assigned.
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
Technically lead a team of full-stack .NET developers by leading the technology work stream
Co-ordinate with product owner to understand functional requirements, do WBS, plan, prioritize, communicate risks/roadblocks, and collaborate with developers
Own product release management and deployments into environments
Mentor the developers by showing them the right way of doing things [Lead by example)
Make recommendations for future state process and own them to delivery (Walk the talk]
Support the product owner with estimations relating to the specialized areas or components
Conduct code reviews with the developers within the development team
Lead the daily stand-up (scrum) meetings
Own the deployments to each environment within the development lifecycle
Research and evaluate a variety of software products.
Develop technical documents (TRD, Best Practices, Architecture Diagrams)
Be an individual contributor when it comes to designing and developing frameworks and critical pieces of code which have a wider impact
Strong proponent of Automation, Agile, Lean, and DevOps
Create detailed technical plans for execution and implementation of projects
Facilitation skills for meeting management, and requirements planning and management.
Organizational Analysis to identify current capabilities and identify opportunities for improvement.
As technical team members work on their items, be available to answer spec questions, clarifications.
Assist in technical instructional manuals and technical walkthrough documents for end users.
Be the primary point of contact for technology vendors.
Performs other duties as required.
Master's Degree in IT or related field.
Minimum of 4-5 years of Lead role experience.
5+ years of experience as a senior developer/programmer
Minimum 10+ years of IT experience Demonstrated ability to work calmly in a fast-paced work environment. Strong planning, organizing, and coordinating skills
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
Effective conflict resolution skills.
Experience managing multidisciplinary tasks.
Experience in Health Insurance is a plus.
Certified Scrum Master CSM Preferred
