The Role

Proofpoint is looking for excellent Sr. QA Automation engineer to join the Proofpoint Threat Response (PTR) team.

Proofpoint Threat Response revolutionizes how customers manage the increasing volume and complexity of cyber attacks. The explosion of new threat detection technologies are creating a huge volume of security alerts that overwhelm manual security response processes and lead to delays or errors that can land companies in the headlines. Threat Response closes the gap between cyber attack detection and containment by providing a platform that unifies security infrastructure, allowing customers to analyze and respond to security events in real time.

This will be lead QA engineer role responsible for all aspects of a QA role including being part of a scrum team, feature testing, interacting with off-shore test team, test automation, interacting with customer support and lab setup of integrations as needed. Should have a healthy dose of self-motivation, take initiative to discuss quality concerns in scrums.

This is a growing QA team and so there will be many opportunities to be involved directly with product management, development, sales and support teams. Everybody on the team is passionate about their work and we’re looking for similarly motivated “get stuff done” kind of people to join us.

Your day-to-day

Be the voice of the PTR test team in daily scrums
Develop tests, plans and scripts as features are being developed.
Take initiative and be part of feature design process with testability mind-set
Sense of urgency in responding to customer issues
Be ready to adapt to the changing priorities

What you bring to the team

Hands on experience in setting up labs and test environments to test enterprise software
Build lab integrations with products of security and network device vendors
Be the interface between local dev and off-shore test team
Thought process of testing thru automation
Experience leading quality efforts of a software shipped to customers
Experience in configuring Firewalls, SIEM, Switches, Routers
Test automation skills in at least one of Python, Ruby or Perl
Experience testing web based applications is a plus
Clear understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, Mail Servers, Windows Registries is a plus
Experience with Selenium is a plus
Be motivated, detail-oriented, have the ability to thrive in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
