Job Description

You’re responsible for assisting in shipment tracking, analyzing inventory trends, material ordering, material receipts, identifying ways to lower expenses & maintaining consistency in material quality. The position will directly report to the Materials Manager.

Primary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains accurate & current record keeping.
  • Replenishes inventory and expendable materials as necessary.
  • Collects & analyzes data on current orders, production levels & sales forecasts to estimate future demand for materials.
  • Maintains the two-bin inventory system.
  • Regularly analysis of reorder points & reorder quantities while adjusting to maximize productivity.
  • Coordinates Accounts Payable function locally or with the corporate office as required.
  • Performs regular cycle counting of material as required by Accounting routinely to support record accuracy.
  • Assists with the annual physical inventory process.
  • Establishes & maintains a well-organized and high-quality system of material storage and labeling.
  • Creates bills of lading as needed.
  • May provide direction to Material Handlers; while being forklift certified to move material as needed.

SKILLS/SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Committed to working safely & acting when unsafe practices are identified within the plant.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, & have time management skills.
  • Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of math applications.
  • Familiarity with consignment inventory, receiving and quality best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications particularly with Excel.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment such as, but not limited to safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hats, ear plugs and respirators.
  • Ability to bend, stoop and stretch to perform tasks.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Upcoming new graduates in May 2019 with a degree in Supply Chain / Materials management / Logistics welcome to apply.
  • HS diploma or equivalent ; College degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 yrs in Procurement, Purchasing, Planning or Material Management.
  • Certified Forklift Operator preferred
