What is the opportunity?

As a Manager, Wealth Planning Consultant with RBC Wealth Management you will be serving as a Wealth Planning Consultant for a small territory, the manager of the Wealth Planning Consultants will also lead a team of 10+ field facing Wealth Planning Consultants who work directly with financial advisors, their teams and their clients on goals based planning. This role will oversee field activities designed to deliver quality financial plans to more clients by driving wealth plan adoption with financial advisors and increasing the number of households that have a plan. This includes developing and coaching to a consistent planning framework and client experience.

What will you do?

Builds, develops and oversees a high performing team of WPCs; provides coaching and mentoring on a consistent field approach to driving wealth planning and helping financial advisors and their teams create a planning centric practice that drives an exceptional client experience. Works with broader wealth planning group, complex peers and business partners to drive regular field messaging and actionable ideas to promote wealth planning and adoption.
Guides peers, stakeholders, strategists, product specialists, business partners and field leadership in the prioritization, development and delivery of a coordinated wealth planning strategy through collaboration at all levels of management. Serves as a key liaison to senior leaders on field activity related to wealth planning: provides regular reporting, uses Sales Force to monitor and set direction for territory management and efficiency and effectiveness. Drives adoption within assigned territory as well as coaches to the overall financial planning approach, client experience, tools and utilization of other related assets.
Contributes to the ongoing development and sustainability of the wealth planning initiative, platform and framework.
Represents the needs of the WPC and field and provides regular feedback on field activity and progress and educates and coaches advisors, other consultants and field leadership on fundamentals and importance of building a wealth planning practice and assist with more complicated planning cases, plan design and client presentations.
Serves as a subject matter expert and contributes to the advancement of the planning process and concepts including effective client discovery, retirement income planning, social security, medical costs, insurance concepts, plan presentation and plan monitoring are key success factors. Drives wealth planning activities across the planning continuum in support of business development, improved client experience, and deeper client relationships
Assists with complex client cases, client presentations and helps close business using wealth planning and contributes regularly to the research and financial planning knowledge base that will be used for firm insights, white papers, marketing, media as well as educational and training events. Supports, trains and motivates FAs to “lead with planning and utilize the RBC Wealth Planning Platform and related assets.
Supports creation and delivery of client plans and necessary research including serving as an expert resource for Wealth Management partners on client planning strategies directed to high net worth individuals. Ensures vendor, internal relationships and planning assets are leveraged across strategic initiatives and training/educational/marketing campaigns.
Collaborates with leaders across functions to promote department's resources and capabilities. This flow of information of best practices and success stories to and from the department will improve communication, idea sharing and consistency in the solutions and experience delivered and effectively manages team’s related development, administrative, compliance and financial activities including managing large T&E budget for the team.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Series 7 and 65 licenses
15+ years of related experience, direct client experience helpful
Demonstrated management/leadership skills including directly managing highly skilled team

Nice-to-have

Aadvanced industry designations CIMA/CFA CFP/AWM) preferred
