The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources is a publicly-owned utility, committed to providing excellent water, wastewater and stormwater services at the best possible value to the citizens of Gwinnett County. The department is widely recognized for service excellence in the operation of two water production facilities, three water reclamation facilities and 226 pump stations. In addition, DWR maintains 3,667 miles of water lines, 2,654 miles of sewer lines and 1,325 miles of storm water pipe. The Department of Water Resources takes pride in stewardship of the environmental resources entrusted to us and pledge to be responsible as we manage water as a limited, but renewable, resource.

This class is responsible for performing journeyman trades duties. The position will be required to perform work on highly specialized equipment associated with wastewater pump stations, and depending on grade level, will act as a lead worker, directing personnel in the proper repair / replacement of equipment. This employee must be able to trouble-shoot equipment to determine the cause of any problems and make accurate and timely decisions with respect to repairs and/or replacements.

The Grades for these positions are:
Trades Tech I
A12 (3) - $27,805.00

High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
Valid Driver's License;
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment

Trades Tech II:
B21 (3) - $32,819.00
High School Diploma or GED;
Valid Driver's License;
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment
Two (2) years of experience working in industrial, mechanical maintenance and repair, pumping systems, electrical systems or power generation engine maintenance; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Trades Tech III:
B23(3) - $40.057
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Valid Driver's License
Four years of related mechanical or electrical trades experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment

Trades Tech IV
B31(3) - $43,561
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.;
Valid driver's license;
Five years of progressively responsible mechanical or electrical trades experience, some of which is in a supervisory capacity;
or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above;
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within 12 months of employment
