Position SummaryThe Financial Services Candidate will help guide the financial vision and strategy of the organization by fostering innovation and prioritizing financial initiatives. The successful candidate excels at prioritizing the needs of the organization and relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides financial leadership and support for all departments to ensure consistency within the business framework of the organization.
  • Prepares financial reports, presentations and materials for the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees meetings; prepares for audits and grant application/reports as needed.
  • Remain up-to-date on best practices in nonprofit finance, business systems and internal control measures to increase operational efficiency and innovation and ensure compliance within the department.
  • Collaborates with departments to manage annual budgeting process. Tracks actual performance to budget and performs variance analysis for re-forecasting purposes on a monthly basis.
  • Demonstrates cultural competence and supportive of diversity of team members and clients at Friendly Inn Settlement, Inc.

Educational: Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field required, MBA or Master’s degree in related field preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in financial position; non-profit financial experience a plus.
  • Minimum of 3+ years as Finance Director or finance lead.
  • Advanced proficiency in database software programs, and various accounting software programs. (Blackbaud, Quickbooks…etc)Preferred Skills

Adaptability and FlexibilityPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a one -year contract position that can be renewed yearly based on performance. Long-term contract negotiable after the first year. Typical hours of work and days are Monday, Wednesday and some Friday’s, 15 to 20 hour work week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
