I. Job Purpose and Core Tasks

Primary focus is the management of the CONFIGT quoting system which includes, but not limited to creation and maintenance of SAP Variant Configuration rules required to support the OR1 Product Portfolio. This position is also responsible for providing accurate quoting of the approved OR1 products and quoting support to field personnel.

This position requires the ability to communicate proactively and effectively; seek necessary information, in a matrix environment with the following departments: Engineering, Quality Assurance, Material Master, Project Management, Field Installation, Service, OR1 Sales, OR1 Marketing, OR1 Sales Operations, Purchasing/Logistics, Customer Support and 3rd party vendors when appropriate.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain the VC model(s) including but not limited to Dependencies, Characteristics, Classes, Configuration Profiles and Sales BOM’s, Object Dependencies, and tables required of configurable product(s), changes, updates and obsolescence requests of the Variant Configuration in SAP for CONFIGIT
  • Performs configuration activities and fixes within SAP via the Variant Configuration (VC) while keeping in mind impact on upstream and downstream systems.
  • Responsible for the ongoing continuous improvement of CONFIGT quoting; proactively engage end-users to identify deficiencies and inefficiencies.
  • Serve as 1st level support for issues that may arise during Quoting, Booking, & Project Creation in SAP.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Product Management, OR1 Field Sales, and OR1 Field Ops, to understand the requirements of all products new and existing to ensure that they are correctly reflect in the VC.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to accurately interpret and implement the products in VC.
  • Provide technical support and educate internal/external users in the effective use of CONFIGIT applications to ensure accurate quoting.
  • Extend and maintain material data to KSEC of the current OR1 products to facilitate accurate quoting.
  • Audit regularly the accuracy of the VC and make the appropriate modifications as required.
  • Participate in the change control process and Weekly Change Control Board (CCB) Meetings to address affected VC product models.
  • Coordinate delivery of services for customizations and enhancements to CONFIGIT and help facilitate issue resolution.
  • Partner, and/or participate on project teams when CONFIGIT is affected by any changes or enhancements are being made which can include testing the quoting system.
  • LM000019 and CRF process – both processes are used to document used to create parts in sap. LM (form) will used in Auburn. CRF=Stafford. This job will guide this process to create parts in SAP, called variant configuration.
  • Review pricing quarterly and update list price on all quotable part numbers
  • Sales BOM Management: (EOS & EOL systems and part numbers). Each system created Variant Config for. Need to manage BOMs for 10 systems by system or product.
  • Creates reports and analytics
  • Special Projects as assigned.
II. Minimum Knowledge, Education and Skill Requirements

Required

Minimum years of relevant work experience: 2-3 years’ experience working with automated system configuration [preferably SAP]; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be advanced or super user of Excel.

Programming experience is a big plus.

Minimum education, certifications and/or credentials: Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree with directly related experience beyond the minimum requirements.

Minimum hard skill requirements (including computer and application proficiency):

Minimum soft skill requirements:
Preferred

Preferred years of relevant work experience: 3-5 years’ experience working with automated system configuration [preferably SAP]; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred education, certifications and/or credentials: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field

Preferred hard skill requirements: Microsoft Programs
