Special Education Aides

The Montgomery County School Board, Virginia, is now accepting applications for immediate openings for Special Education Aide positions that are available. Open positions may be available at the following locations (subject to change based on school needs):
- Auburn High School
- Blacksburg High School
- Eastern Montgomery Elementary School
- Montgomery Central
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The aide assists teachers in integrating special education students into the regular classroom as much as possible to allow students to achieve their maximum academic and social potential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successful completion of at least 48 semester hours of college from an accredited college or university or a passing score on the Para-Professional Assessment Exam (currently administered through MCPS)
- Possess strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn to operate and maintain a wide variety of instructional equipment
- Possess the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, teachers, and parents
- Possess an interest and ability in working with special education students
- Dependability and punctuality required
Salary: $15.38 - $24.71 /hour, depending on experience
