Job Overview and Summary:
The DevOps Automation team is looking for an energetic DevOps engineer who is excited about learning new technologies and working with many different teams to automate their processes and help them accelerate development.

The DevOps Automation team works with multiple application development teams to setup their CI/CD automation, both on premise and cloud, and assist them with troubleshooting issues and provide guidance on cloud services and monitoring.

The DevOps Engineer will:
Learn from and then assist the DevOps team in setting up build and deployment automation for a wide range of applications. These include traditional on premise, AWS cloud native, and containerized (Kubernetes) applications; and with many different technologies such as .NET, Java, NodeJS, Angular, Tibco and Python.

Work with different application teams independently to understand their application architecture and their automation requirements and then implement the solution while following the standards.

Create or review AWS CloudFormation templates that automate the entire infrastructure for the application while following the standards.

Create PowerShell, Python or Linux Shell scripts to automate manual tasks.

Collaborate closely with the cloud engineering and security team on cloud projects.

Research and evaluate new automation technologies and look for opportunities to streamline processes or improve efficiency.

Required:
1-5 years of application development or preferably DevOps experience.
At least basic understanding of web applications, databases (relational and NoSQL), messaging (MQ, Tibco EMS, Kafka) and version control system (Git, TFS).
Strong desire to learn new technologies.
Some exposure / hands-on experience in some of these areas: CI/CD, AWS CloudFormation, AWS Code Pipeline, AWS Lambda, Jenkins and TeamCity.
BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, other computer related field required, or equivalent work experience required.

Desired:
Experience with TeamCity or Jenkins and core AWS technologies is a big plus;
Scripting experience with Python, Bash or PowerShell.
