Provide comprehensive analytical support for the ongoing design and administration of all associate benefit programs.
Lead the administration of various benefit programs such as Voluntary Life Insurance and HSA & FSA contributions and account reconciliation.
Perform audits of biweekly payroll processing. Work closely with benefits administrator and payroll to ensure exceptions and corrections are processed as needed.
Partner with and provide direction to benefit coordinators.
Trouble-shoot escalated benefits issues.
Coordinate and/or support annual enrollment process. Assist with HRIS deployment including design and use of self-service enrollment tool and post-enrollment audits. Manage Evidence of Insurability process for Life and LTD benefits.
Analysis & Recommendations
Perform regular audits to ensure benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and company regulatory guidelines.
Provide data analysis to evaluate benefit programs, determine trends, uncover issues and propose solutions while anticipating future needs.
Perform monthly audits of employee withholdings and vendor invoicing, troubleshoot discrepancies, and prepare and monthly billing payments for approval.
Review data associated with the operations of employee benefits plans and prepare cost analyses. Assist with preparation of annual budget projections and other financial forecasting needs.
Conduct or participate in benefit surveys, compile and organize survey data, assist with identifying benchmarks to make recommendations to support benefit strategy and design and contract negotiations.
Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing benefit programs including ERISA, ACA, and SOX compliance. Prepare IRS Forms 1094 & 1095 and perform monthly and annual eligibility testing under the ACA. Calculate annual PCORI and Transitional reinsurance fee.
Work with external and internal auditors and finance to provide data. Assist with completion of 5500s and other required filings.
Develop comprehensive and well organized written materials (e.g. policies, FAQs) to communicate benefit changes. Audit internal materials for accuracy and further improvement opportunities. Prepare and update Summary Plan Descriptions and other plan documentation as required.
Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and system configuration to increase efficiency, effectiveness and knowledge of the group to provide quality service to associates and make recommendations for improvements.
Assist team members in annual and new projects. Be a project resource for a variety of topics including wellness programs, annual open enrollment, plan design and vendor changes, and acquisition integration.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job:
3+ years of experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Proficient in Excel
Strong analytical skills and basic knowledge of plan design
Strong financial / business acumen
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Experience with 401k and pension plans
Workday HRIS Experience

Gather and analyze data, as well as provide recommendations for all but the most complex benefit programs.
