JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The list of job responsibilities is not an exhaustive list (merely descriptive) and you may be required to take on additional responsibilities as needed by the Company. Senior Skin Care Formulation Chemist, R&D, you will:

·3+ years of Skin Care Formulation & Project Management Experience required.

·Proven track record of successful project completion or product launch is a plus.

·BA/BS or higher degree in scientific discipline such as chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physic, or engineering required.

·Utilize extraordinary time management skills (juggle multiple projects and determine priorities)

·Work directly with our employees and our customers, including our own brands, Peter Thomas Roth, the June Jacobs Spa Collection (“JJ Spa”) and Private Label, to coordinate all Research and Development, to include oversight of all final ingredients and ingredient list submissions for each product.

·Develop new products and product lines and rework existing products bringing to bear your knowledge of ingredients, market trends and the skin care and cosmetic industry.

·Submit/check/modify ingredient listings for all customers in the format requested

·Coordinate, as necessary, any work with outside chemists on new formulations.

·Work with our Director of QC and Compliance to ensure all SOPs and GMPs are in place and strictly adhered to.

·Coordinate with our Director of QC and Compliance, as well as outside facilities to include Clinical Research Labs and Biochem/Omega, to ensure appropriate product testing such as Sunscreen effectiveness, RIPT, Micro, and FDA product validation – on both existing and new products.

·Ensure FDA compliance in the tasks that you perform on a daily basis, and be mindful of other compliance issues that are outside of your direct responsibilities. Advise on needed changes and identify irregularities.

·Optimize R&D and new product pipeline for all of our product lines.

·Oversee pilot batch and new product production and ensure that process instructions are properly executed by the compounding staff.

·Proactively review and advise as to what process you see being needed or revised to make the lab function optimally.

·Pursue new business and attend new business meetings as required.

·Assist in collecting and providing technical information to appropriate marketing personnel for preparation of presentations, and attend meetings when necessary

·Attend certain trade shows like HBA and set-up and attend meetings with both existing and new accounts as necessary

·Develop expertise with our software systems, Apprise and Batchmaster, or other systems and platforms as may be required.

·Share any knowledge you may have with improving the way we order raw ingredients and assist in this area.

·Interact with product development team(s) and regularly review PDRs and target ship dates.

·Meet with raw material vendors regularly to remain on the cutting edge.

·Meet and liaise with vendors as necessary to improve our standing and to yield better pricing.

·Attend operations meetings and/or product development meetings in NYC or Moonachie, as required.

·Proactively review and advise as to what process you see being needed or revised to make the lab function optimally.

·Ensure that you and your staff are cross trained in your domain and areas of expertise in the event you are absent from your job.
