Description & Requirements
As the Manager of the Project Commercialization Team- you will oversee the product commercialization process- facilitate Stage Gate approval and Portfolio Management Review meetings with senior management- and drive continuous improvement in the way product launches are executed for the Canada Zone. This individual interfaces extensively with key stakeholders of all levels of leadership and across multiple functions including: Consumer Marketing- Sales- R&D- Finance- and all functions within Supply Chain team (Procurement- Manufacturing and Customer Service & Logistics) to deliver projects on time and within cost and quality parameters.
Gated Product Development
Implement a best in class product development and management stage gate approval process for the Canada Zone
Lead month Portfolio Management Review meetings to enable senior management discussion on portfolio sufficiency- alignment to strategy- and prioritization of resources
Facilitate monthly Platform Stage Gate meetings to enable senior management discussion on new product commercialization readiness and secure approval to progress gates
Drive the implementation of the ProjectNOW project management tool and ensure all critical projects are properly classified- scope and relevant financials assumptions are properly defined- documented and communicated to all relevant stakeholders
Support Platforms in monthly innovation pipeline sufficiency reporting and implementing best-practice rituals and routines for ensuring ongoing data accuracy
Function as the Canada Zone point of contact and knowledge expert for the ProjectNOW tool and continuously drive organization buy-in across business units and cross functional stakeholders
Coordinate the Project Commercialization Team in delivering on a broad set of initiatives across multiple Platforms in adherence to Kraft Heinz and customer launch requirements
Function as the Canada Zone point of contact and knowledge expert on the Commercialization Process- providing guidance on project execution best practices and technical inquires
Oversee project execution for multiple Platforms and develop methods for monitoring project progress and communicating to a senior management audience
Provide the Project Commercialization team with hands-on support in completing risk assessments- contingency planning and escalation as required to keep projects on track to deliver on business needs
Facilitate project kick off meetings with functional stakeholders and put in place best practice guidelines for defining project scope- timeline- complexity and resource needs impacting launch feasibility
Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of strategic and highly complex projects to meet the revenue- volume- growth- productivity- and quality goals and priorities across multiple Platforms
Coordinate the zone resource prioritization and allocation process to ensure that all project initiatives are sufficiently supported to deliver on-time and quality execution
Change Management and Continuous Improvement
Engage the Project Commercialization team in continuously assess opportunities to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the PMR- Stage Gate- ProjectNOW- and Commercialization processes
Lead cross functional team deep dives to identify and address process inefficiencies. Employ standardized PDCA and root causes analysis frameworks to identify the key issues- develop detailed project plans and impactful solutions to be communicated to senior stakeholders
Leverage change management best practices to drive implementation of new processes- and facilitate cross functional buy-in from stakeholders of all levels.
Management of the category’s project portfolio requires extensive influence across many levels and functions. Strong relationships and effective partnerships with internal functions- e.g. Marketing- Sales- Finance- Global Supply Chain (Customer Service & Logistics- Manufacturing and Procurement)- R&D- Quality- Legal- Package Brand & Design are instrumental to success.
The category competes within a dynamic environment and its commercialization agenda must be able to react quickly to changing customer- consumer and internal needs. As a result- the category project portfolio covers a broad array of long term strategic and short term tactical initiatives.
The role requires direct management of product change management professionals while maintaining responsibility for own project work.
Extensive change / project management knowledge.
Working knowledge of operations and basic supply chain principles.
Bachelor’s degree required (accounting/finance- marketing- logistics- engineering- quality- food science- operations).
Minimum 5 years of experience- typically with 3 years of experience of supply chain / production / procurement / R&D / project management.
Strong ability to build effective teams.
Interpersonal savvy and comfortable around higher management
Ability to prioritize multiple projects- knowing when to take calculated risks in a fast-paced environment.
