Education and Experience

A minimum of 4 years’ experience is highly desired. Experience with Information Technology concepts and applications are also desired.
Environmental / Working Conditions

Works in a well-lighted, heated, and ventilated building. Hours may vary to accommodate need of other departments.
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships

This position requires interaction with most other UMC Department, medical staff, and technical personnel at UMC, PNS, and TTUHSC.
Job Description

The Access Control Specialist role will ensure appropriate physical and logical access to UMC systems, applications, and sensitive physical areas. This is achieved by performing accurate and timely user account administration and interfacing with business units to minimize access-related security risks. The position will also participate in compliance efforts, access management projects, and process improvement activities under the guidance of the ISO.
Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations

Security + is required within the first 12 months of employment. Other vendor specific certifications are highly desirable but not required at time of employment. (i.e. RES, Genetec, MyChild, etc.)
Physical Capabilities

Work is a medium demand; walking, sitting, and standing most of the time while on-duty. Occasional lifting of equipment is required. Adequate hand/eye coordination and the line motor skills required for typing. Talking and hearing is essential in dealing with co-workers and customers.
Skills and Abilities

This individual will possess attention to detail, time management, communication, and strong customer services skills.
