Garden Me Up is a 3 - 4 person crew of dedicated landscape gardening professionals. We provide outstanding maintenance, installation, design and renovation services in the beautifully landscaped large and medium sized yards of garden loving customers in the Ann Arbor area. We specialize exclusively in horticultural, plantscape, and softscape related services. We do not provide snow, mowing, or larger scale hardscape services.
We're seeking 2 new experienced and skilled Landscape Gardeners to join our team this fall, as two of our awesome staff have moved on to pursue college educations. Our ideal candidates will have experience and a high skill level in the art of maintaining and renovating large and medium scale private landscapes and gardens. They will be passionate about gardening and horticulture and will be equally passionate about providing high level, attentive customer service. Ability to provide detailed work product and to work both independently and as part of a fast paced, hard working, professional team are also crucial.
Responsibilities:
· Skillfully utilize manual and power tools of the trade to effectively and efficiently perform landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, trimming, edging, mulching and weeding with precision and high level attention to detail.
· Proactively contribute to a high quality, fast paced, professional, and friendly customer and coworker experience.
Qualifications:
· Physical Stamina – ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds repetitively; ability to work using heavy tools while walking, standing, bending and squatting; ability to focus on detailed work maintaining the same position for hours at a time; ability to work physically hard all day every work day.
· Prior Experience – (at least two full seasons preferred) proficiency in the use of a variety of manual tools of the trade such as shovels, rakes, shears, and hand pruners, as well as gas powered and electric powered hedgers, blowers, and chainsaws; skilled level performance in shrub and hedge trimming, hand pruning, weeding, deadheading, planting, transplanting, bed preparation, bed edging, mulching, and fall leaf cleanup services. Ability to safely and skillfully drive an F250 while pulling and backing a 14 ft dump trailer is highly desirable.
· Plant Identification & Care Knowledge – (high level preferred but not initially required) the more the better.
· Eye for Detail, Style, and Design – the more the better.
