Seeking an experienced HR Business Partner. The position will be responsible for managing both tactical initiatives as well as strategic operational goals that shape our culture, engage our employees, and drive organizational results. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to become a trusted partner and advisor for leaders and employees, bringing a passion for strategic thinking while delivering practical, results-oriented solutions.
This is a hands on role supporting multiple departments and groups throughout the LA business and the incumbent will be expected to work with a quick pace, be able to appropriately prioritize workplace requests and issues that arise, as well as proactively work to resolve business challenges.
Roles & Responsibilities
Partner with leaders across the LA business to solve business problems, address employee issues, and execute a talent strategy that attracts, develops and retains high performing employees focused on results;
Demonstrates solid working knowledge of all generalist capabilities including but not limited to the following areas: benefits and compensation, talent acquisition, performance and reward, leaves of absence and disability accommodations, and learning and development;
Comfort with and knowledge regarding management of multiple classifications of employment and a large non-exempt work force;
Assess, anticipate and identify opportunities to deliver initiatives that support the achievement of strategic goals;
Develop collaborative relationships with the business and throughout the HR team and leverage HR leadership to create and suggest solutions for the business; share knowledge and best practices that will help HR be more effective across the assigned organization;
Consult and provide input on organization design where appropriate and required within assigned client groups;
Lead workforce planning, talent assessment and succession planning for client group; work with leaders to identify and develop the next generation of leaders;
Provide day to day coaching and performance management guidance; work with managers and employees to build strong working relationships, and endeavor to drive higher morale, productivity and retention;
Work with managers and the HR team to independently manage select employee relations issues;
Guide managers through the execution of HR programs, processes and tactical and strategic initiatives (e.g., performance management, recruitment and selection, talent management and succession planning, compensation planning);
Utilize data and analytics to inform business decisions and assess organizational effectiveness; partner with the business to develop and implement plans to address any issues identified;
Assess and identify training needs for individuals and organization; develop, evaluate and monitor programs to ensure objectives are met;
Partner with Employee Relations Lead to shepherd complex employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary and assigned; and
Interpret and advise on HR policy; maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day to day management of employees; ensure compliance with all applicable employment policies, regulations and laws.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources
Deep working knowledge of CA employment law, including hiring practices, EEO, EEOC, wage and hour, labor relations, etc.
Preferred Education and Experience:
MBA, MA in Labor/Industrial Relations or Organizational Psychology
Experience within multiple disciplines of Human Resources (Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, Client Service and Strategic Planning)
Experience supporting organizations with large contingent workforces
Experience in Media

Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position with standard working hours of 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Mon. - Fri.; the position may require occasional evening and weekend work as job responsibilities demand.
