About the Role
HARMAN’s diverse portfolio of businesses and customers offer interns a great opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of projects and practices. As a member of our team, your primary role will be to collaborate with the global supply planning team while serving to support customer requirements, including purchase review, inbound transportation decisions, and more – bringing innovative ideas to the table as an integral part of a growing team. Our 2021 program is slated to be based at our Northridge, CA office.
You will report to the Manager of Supply Chain.
What You Will Do
Lead continuous improvement project initiatives to drive end to end operational excellence (cost, efficiency, quality)
Support the Supply Chain team in the execution of daily activities ensuring inventory is at the right time at the right place
Monitor supply health checks and ensure proper material master maintenance
Assist in the tracking and execution of direct shipments to customers
What You Need
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Sophomore year or later, or graduate/Ph.D. program at an accredited institution taking at least one class in the semester prior to the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program.
Degree must be in the related area of work with courses in Operations/Supply Chain.
High-level proficiency with MS Excel and Access and data analysis.
Strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders.
What is Nice to Have
Experience with SAP ERP / APO / IBP and/or a similar ERP system is highly preferred.
Previous entry-level work experience strongly preferred.
What Makes You Eligible
Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work in the Northridge, CA office.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Must provide full work availability from May 24, 2021 through August 13, 2021 and be able to work 40 hours per week.
Highly prefer candidates who live within a commutable distance.
