AZZ SMS LLC located in St. Petersburg, FL is looking for a Sales/Business Development Manager to grow our territory in GA, AL, NC, and SC. The individual will be a self starter and will need to have experience selling services/parts and knowledge of boilers.

With over thirty years of specialized experience, AZZ Field Services (formerly known as SMS) is a fully-accredited specialty construction company offering ASME and NBIC certifications for a wide range of boiler construction, maintenance and overhaul needs.

JOB PURPOSE:

Positions the company to deliver repair and overhaul solutions for the Power, Pulp & Paper, and Chemical industries by providing primary account management functions and sales activities for the assigned clients and territory. Develops rapport and establish sustainable strategic relationships with existing customer base and new clients.

Region: GA, AL, NC, SC

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(other duties may be assigned):

  • In conjunction with the Vice President & GM, develops objectives and strategies in support of business development goals.
  • Identifies and prioritizes potential customers. Develops rapport and establishes strategic relationships.
  • Supports the companies reporting program (Sales Force) for managing accounts and facilitates proposal processes.
  • Prepares and executes business development action plans for specific targets.
  • Conducts meetings and presentations with potential customers to discover customer issues that align with the services offered by AZZ SMS LLC.
  • Determines requirements and procedure to become a Qualified Vendor. Coordinates effort with Commercial Operation Team.
  • Supports the Commercial Operation Team as need in the development of proposals.
  • Manages customer relationship during the proposal development and execution phases of the opportunity.
  • Performs additional assignments as requested by Vice President & GM

QUALIFICATIONS:

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: None

Knowledge/Skills: Must possess technical knowledge associated with Power, Pulp & Paper, and Chemical industries operations and maintenance or have a strong industrial background. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Education/Experience: Four year business, marketing or engineering degree, with MBA preferred. Three or more years of experience in business development, sales and/or marketing to the Power, Pulp & Paper, and Chemical industries or Five years of experience in business development, sales and/or marketing in the industrial market.

Language Skills: English proficiency written and spoken

Mathematical Skills: Advanced

Reasoning Ability: Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment.

Travel Requirement: Frequent up to 100%

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Frequently required to drive a vehicle and travel by air.

Work Environment: Some office, but mostly plant/industrial environments.
