The role of the Associate Brand Manager is to provide support with brand direction, development and execution of brand marketing programs. Assists with review of market research and competitive intelligence to monitor and anticipate market trends and translate consumer attitudes into new branding directions. Assists with communication of brand strategies to the International Marketing team, Sales, R&D and other departments. Ensures alignment of brand strategy with corporate marketing plan. Works with other departments to help develop advertising and promotional programs, pricing, positioning, and packaging. Assists in planning and coordination of product launch. Work is performed under direct supervision.
What we offer
Continuously monitor the performance of assigned brands using sales reports and research (IRI, Nielsen) data. Apprise management of significant changes. Ensure current knowledge of the competitive environment via outside sources
Assist with the development of annual marketing plan for assigned brands. Includes business review, customers line reviews, development of alternative/contingency plans, and overall strategy for the brand. Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual operating plan reviews
Work with Shopper Marketing on developing and executing major consumer promotions and trade programs designed to gain volume, market share and profits.
Maintain ongoing communication with Sales Strategy and Field Sales personnel to build support plans, learn about changing market conditions and modify promotion programs to support market changes
Work with the International Marketing Team, Market Research, R&D, Finance, and Manufacturing from packaging updates to new SKUs launches that can add incremental dollar and case volume to the franchise.
Participate in advertising agency meetings with brand's advertising agency to include any necessary preliminary and follow-up work
Who we are looking for
BS/BA (Business, Social Sciences - Psychology, Sociology, Economics), MBA preferred
1 - 3 years’ experience in consumer products marketing and/or sales.
1 - 3 years' experience in Brand Management
Prior experience with managing a product launch/project management highly desirable
Knowledge of category (major competitors, target users, industry trends)
Proficiency with PC applications MS Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint
Strong interpersonal/communication skills; attention to details; solid analytical skills and approach to deriving insights from data; strong financial orientation
Ability to analyze research data and make decisions designed to generate incremental sales and profits
Knowledge of wide variety of specific promotion vehicles and vendors which may be usable in certain situations
Demonstrated leadership and organization skills required to be able to lead project and work independently
Creative mindset and strong team player
