EP Minerals, a U.S. Silica company, mines, processes and markets quality diatomite, perlite and clay products. The Site Manager at Fernley manages all plant activities related to operations and development of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promotes, teaches and leads efforts to disseminate and model The EP Way as defined by the 25 Fundamentals
Develops and maintains the business plans for manufacturing operations including all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and company image.
Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
Identifies and establishes requests for capital requirements.
Assists in the planning, development and execution of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations.
Ensures both staff and Union are properly operating under the confines of the CBA.
Ensures all established safety, environmental, costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
Coordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
Trains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
Coordinates efforts with corporate Directors of EHS, Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Procurement, Finance, Quality Engineering, Master Scheduling, Customer Service and Continuous Improvement to meet business needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise the Safety Department, Engineering Department, Maintenance Department, Production Department and Shipping Department.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education / Certifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have valid driver s license
