The Product Launch and Events Communications Coordinator is a key contributor to the Ford Product Communications team’s efforts. He/she leads coordination of the development of creative vehicle reveals, launch and event plans, asset creation, workflow progress, key metrics, and contributes to enterprise storytelling.
Lead on coordinating the full execution process of a program (launch, drive and/or auto show) from start to finish.
Lead the integration between Communications (product, corporate, employee, channels, etc.) with key stakeholders and partners, including marketing, product development, vehicle engineering and partner agencies throughout the planning and execution phases of launch program and key U.S. auto shows (North American International Auto Show, Chicago Auto Show, New York International Auto Show and LA Auto Show).
Create impactful, shareable moments for Ford and Lincoln brands through integrated storytelling efforts across channels. This includes guiding development of multi-channel, high-impact programs – from informative, media-friendly briefings to engaging drive experiences that showcase the strength and leadership of each product – to successfully launch our new vehicles and services.
Enhance the quality and creative approach to media-facing events, supporting communications and content, through creative, compelling and unique programs.
Engage with a breadth of media related to the program, from key automotive, to consumer/lifestyle and technology reporters.
Work with Corporate, Car, Truck and SUV Communications teams as needed with launch and enterprise story mining. Mine for compelling, emotional stories and scour the product community/research campus for developments that could be used for storytelling or in executive presentations.
Travel estimated at 40 percent; infrequent international travel may be required
Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent
6+ years of experience developing and implementing communications strategies
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or a related field; advanced degree a plus
Experience in multiple communications roles
Experience working with global and cross-functional teams (including marketing) to develop and align communications strategies
Experience working with agency partners
Strong understanding of how media work, including print, broadcast and online
Strong understanding of content communications and digital platforms
Strong inter-personal skills and the ability to build and cultivate relationships with colleagues across functions
Excellent oral and written communication skills (including editing)
Comfortable working in a large and complex organization
Detail-oriented understanding of work processes
Team-oriented approach with a positive attitude necessary, as well as a can-do attitude and sense of urgency in this rapidly changing environment
Able to work autonomously without direct supervision, and ability to take and communicate decisive actions
