As a Housekeeper for American Cruise Lines, you will be living and working aboard one of our cruise ships, while maintaining the cleanliness of our guest’s rooms and public areas. In this position, you are a key member of the team, helping to create and maintain an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for our guests. The crew members on board are the key to success for American Cruise Lines and are often one of the most significant reasons that our guests continue cruising with us. On a daily basis, you will be interacting directly with our guests. As the person on the “frontlines,” the importance of your role can not be understated.
To prepare you with the skills and knowledge needed to provide the best possible service to our guests, we offer shore side training at our Home Office Training Facility in Guilford, CT. Experience in this role provides the foundation for a future career in the hospitality industry.
Working onboard an American Cruise Lines small ship, you will visit a different city and view a new landscape every day. In addition, all on board living expenses are covered, so you will be able to enjoy the journey while saving and earning competitive pay. Daily guest stateroom service and housekeeping. We operate luxury cruises and need to make sure we give each guest their own finest experience.
Public area management and coordination. Each ship has a number of different lounges and daily events that need to be handled perfectly every day.
Outstanding customer service with the ability to respond to all requests with meticulousness and care.
Must be a team player. Every individual is required to pitch in to contribute to their team in the strongest possible manner.
You must be an American citizen or a valid Green Card holder
At least 18 years old
Must-Have High-School Diploma
Willingness to live and work aboard the ship
Optimism and a hardworking drive to succeed
Physically able to meet moderate demands, including lifting, bending, climbing, and long periods of standing or walking.
Cruise industry experience is NOT required
Pre-Employment Drug Test: Under Federal Law and the Department of Transportation we are required to pre-employment drug test all shipboard employees. This includes testing for Marijuana and other controlled substances. We are also an alcohol free company.
Earn Money – Pay ranges from $700 to $900 per week.
Minimal Expenses – your living expenses are all covered while onboard. It’s a dormitory-style environment.
Travel the Country - We visit 30 states on our different cruises and travel through the most beautiful areas in our country.
Hospitality Experience – This is a strong foundation for a career in the hospitality industry and a way to build your resume.
Upward Mobility – After your rotation, you may apply for full time roles in either shipboard management or corporate positions.
