Principal Duties and Accountabilities:
HVAC Service, Preventative Maintenance and Installation:
Will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing and maintaining commercial and industrial HVAC equipment in Manhattan, Topeka, Lawrence and Surrounding Area.
Perform preventative maintenance task on HVAC systems and equipment.

Job Scope:
The HVAC Service Technician may be responsible for servicing, installing, starting up and performing preventative maintenance activities.

Management Responsibility:
Individual Contributor – no subordinates.

Education, work experience and/or training typically possessed by qualified candidate:

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalency required.
Coursework related to HVAC and plumbing service, installation and maintenance preferred.

Experience:
Minimum of five years comparable experience within the HVAC and plumbing service and maintenance industry required.

Training and Certifications:
EPA Universal CFC certification
Journeyman HVAC/Pipefitter License
OSHA-10, OSHA-30, Master Mechanical License, Safety and Related Trade Certifications are all pluses but not required.

Additional Requirements:
Must clear pre-employment background check
Must be insurable to drive company vehicle
Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing
Must be a current member of pipefitters and plumbers local 441, sheet metal workers local 2 or agree to join with US Engineering assistance

Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically needed for competent performance:

Excellent customer service and professional communication skills.
Working knowledge of chiller, steam boiler, hydronics, controls and general mechanical systems.
Keen attention to detail and good organizational skills.
Safety minded, think first attitude.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and excel in a fast-paced work environment that includes frequent interruptions.
Team mindset – flexible to help where the team will benefit most and develop effective professional relationships.
Focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines – demonstrates sense of urgency as required.

Physical and/or travel demands:
A company service vehicle will be provided as needed.
This position requires bending, lifting, climbing, carrying and indoors and outdoors.
