LGS is seeking a VP, Mission Solutions to have overall
responsibility for the leadership management, profit and
loss of the LGS Mission Solutions (MS) business segment.
This spans all aspects of the business including
budgeting, resourcing, research and development, new
product introduction, staffing, training and technical
support to meet customer “mission critical”
requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Set overall goals consistent with LGS strategy and
Integrated Operations and Services (IOS) Group
goals, monitoring progress and identifying road
blocks and organization issues and taking corrective
actions – both tactical and strategic – to ensure
goals are met
  • Develop and achieve profit & loss objective for the
MS business
  • Review all business opportunities per the LGS
capture process to include determination of bid/no
bid decisions for all major programs/projects to
ensure the deliverables and margins are attainable,
realistic and meet corporate objectives
  • Work closely with other LGS business groups in
identifying and executing the joint strategy,
leveraging a diversity of capabilities,
technologies, staff and products, and creating new
capabilities, technologies, and customer revenue
streams
  • Assure customer satisfaction through conducting
internal program reviews to assess quality and
compliance with customer commitments, meeting with
customers to assess degree of satisfaction,
identifying and implementing organizational
improvements
  • Interact with senior level LGS and customers as
appropriate to align policy and business decisions
with strategic goals
  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, coaching and
performance management for direct reports and
implementation throughout the organization


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as
necessary
  • Understand and adhere to all LGS Ethical and
Compliance policies
  • Proactively ensure a safe work environment and
adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Consistent and reliable attendance required
  • If required, obtain/retain a government security
clearance at the level required to perform the
duties of the position
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment
which requires proper safety precautions. Work may
require some physical effort in the handling of
light materials, boxes, or equipment.

Job Requirements:Skills and Knowledge:
  • 10+ years of experience in the successful management
of advanced technology projects – software and/or
hardware, technical support, mission operations
support and program management
  • 15+ years of proven success in coaching and
supervision of technical staff, operations and
building customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership in
establishing organizational goals, implementing
value-added process improvements, and building high
performance technical and operations teams with a
strong customer focus
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of industry financial methods,
metrics and reports

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or other technical
discipline and 10-15 years of relevant experience or
an equivalent combination of education, skills, and
experience
  • Degree in Business Administration or equivalent
level of education and experience is highly
desirable

Additional Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of government development programs and
contracting
  • Experiences with software development and SIGINT
programs
  • Active IC clearance
  • Experience as an IC/DoD Program Manager/Director is
highly desirable
