Principal Embedded Systems Architect

Cambridge Consultants Ltd - Boston, MA3.0

We are looking for an experienced system engineer with a background in specifying, architecting and delivering complex interconnected embedded systems.

You will be an expert in your field and comfortable working directly alongside clients as the technical expert. We are looking for someone with both the technical and the people skills to help guide and shape projects to ensure the best possible result for our clients. You will be comfortable both challenging and being challenged by our clients and able to take responsibility for the overall technical solution on sophisticated, multi-disciplinary projects.

You will have a broad system understanding of wireless embedded devices and everything that is needed to take them from a concept to a shipping product. You will also have deep technical expertise in one or more relevant areas.

With our state of the art facilities and a global team of more than 800 talented engineers, we specialize in solving the complex problems that others can’t. In fact, if a development is routine or trivial we’re probably not the right partner. If our clients believe their problem is impossible to solve, then we’re interested…

This position is located in our Boston, MA office.
What you will be doing
You will be working closely with our clients and our internal development teams across all phases of a project, from initial engagement to successful hand-over to the client.

At the beginning of a project, you will work with a business developer and a project manager to understand a client’s needs and help scope and shape the work we can do to help them. You will be the technical expert and be able to clearly demonstrate to the client the difficulties of their technical challenges, and why we are well suited to help them.

During a project you will be the technical owner of the solution and the key interface between the client and the internal development teams. You will develop the overall architecture of the solution and may lead development teams within your discipline. You will work closely with all disciplines to define interfaces and functional partitioning between subsystems.

As a senior member of the team you will also mentor junior members to help them develop their skills and capabilities.
