JOB SUMMARY: The Restaurant Supervisor oversees the front-of-house operations of the restaurant and bar, ensuring exceptional guest service and financial success for the hotel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Supervision of daily restaurant functions

Supervision and coordination of restaurant activities and employees; hire, train, develop, assess and empower staff to achieve the department's goals.

Supervision of the floor during meal periods ensuring all standards and steps of service are met through all guest interactions.

Oversee the set-up of restaurants and bars to include, but not limited to, the placement of linens, silver, glassware and chinaware according to event specifications and a full inspection.

Communicate effectively and positively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear, accurate direction to the staff.

Observe performance and coach and encourage improvement where necessary.

Ensure knowledge of menu and all food products.

Oversee food and beverage preparation and visually monitor products sent from the kitchens/bars to ensure quality and timeliness

Utilize computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports and write correspondence. Input and retrieve data and update POS system.

Ensure that all standards and cash handling procedures are met.

Maintain cleanliness of all outlets on an ongoing daily basis.

Solicit feedback form guests concerning the service of food and drink offerings in all outlets.

Complete monthly food, beverage and china/glass/silver/linen inventory

Ensure all daily and monthly reports are detailed and submitted in a timely manner.

Assist in planning and setting up special events for all venues including all tastings, special functions, and all holiday events.

Ensure that the restaurant/bar operations are in compliance with company, brand, federal, state, and local laws/regulations for example, OSHA, Wage and Hour (tip reporting), Health, Sanitation, Alcohol Beverage Control, hotel and company policies.

Creation of staff schedules to ensure that demand is met, and that operation is operating efficiently.

Ensure training of employees to maintain a safe and secure environment at all times.

Resolve guest’s complaints and answer questions regarding menu items and beverages served and their contents and preparation.

Greet customers, take drink/food orders, create, and serve food and drinks as needed.

Complete and maintain up-to-date alcohol serving class, such as TIPS or other state approved classes.

Attend meetings/training as required by management.

Assist in Food & Beverage Outlets as needed.

REQUIRED/PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High School diploma/GED or equivalent education/experience required.

Food Handler/Safe Serv/TIPS certification as required.

Applicable state certifications and brand training as required.

Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and use of Point of Sales Systems and other required systems.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position requires variable hours based on the needs of the hotel including nights and weekends.
