Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring accurate recording of expenses in general ledger and financial statements
  • Analyze and explain variances against budget in general ledger accounts
  • Prepare schedules and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Maintain Fixed Asset records
  • Interact and provide data to external auditors for both quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Manage banking functions around accounts payable and credit cards
  • Supervise Accounts Payable Specialist
  • Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls
  • Assist with financial and tax audits
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing and preparation of journal entries

Skills, Experience, and Other Job Related Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in accounting experience
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines

Additional Competencies:

  • CPA certification
  • Cooperative and service-oriented attitude; must be able to work under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor
  • Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and shift priorities simultaneously
  • High level of initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to use sound judgment to effectively solve problems within the scope of the position
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
