Overview
Softtek Government Solutions is seeking a Security Specialist to support the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). ASPR is a public health preparedness and emergency response organization in the Office of the Secretary at the United States Department of Health and Human Services. ASPR was created under the Pandemic and All Hazards Preparedness Act in the wake of Hurricane Katrina to lead the nation in preventing, preparing for, and responding to the adverse health effects of public health emergencies and disasters.
Responsibilities

Process all On-boarding Security Packages such as: Federal (Full-time employee, FTE) positions and Interns, Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (PHS CC)

Conduct quality review of information entered on forms HHS-828, OF-306, OF-8/PD, and the resume to include addresses for educational institutions and employers as well as e-mail addresses

Verify the information provided for position sensitivity Tier designation (FTE) matches all forms

Manage on-boarding security packet to the Program Support Center (PSC)for security investigation processing and HHS ID badge enrollment/issuance actions.

Update the Security tracking spreadsheet with the applicant’s information, and post status update changes regularly.

Monitor ASPR email traffic for updates on applicant’s onboarding security investigation status and HHS ID badge notices and appointments.

Process Visitor Access Request’s for multiple employees on different StaffDivs and communicated with various agencies for quality submission control of VARs
-
POC for multiple divisions such as the Immediate Office, MF Human Capital, SPPR, SOC, BARDA, IMBSC

Train onboarding colleagues and provided guidance to team members for quality process enhancements

Create monthly and weekly reports of cases completed and or pending review/approvals submitted to Branch Manager and Program Manager
Qualifications
Required Education
Required Experience

4-6 years of experience

Direct personnel security processing experience
-
Knowledge of clearance levels and various forms used to process security requests

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to process actions in a timely manner

Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability

Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
-
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response

Demonstrated ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment
-
Intermediate level Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and Adobe Acrobat skills

Superior time management skills.
Required Clearance
-
Favorable adjudicated Tier 3 investigation and be able to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret Clearance
