Leonard J. Miller & Associates seeks an experienced Tax Reviewer to join our growing tax team in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Tax Reviewer position requires an experienced CPA with the ability to think and work independently as well as part of a team. You should have strong communication skills with an eye for detail, the ability to multi-task, an interest in process improvement and mentoring of tax preparers. The Tax Reviewer oversees the work product of a team of tax preparers in a high-volume environment, ensuring quality and compliance, and prepares complex returns when necessary. COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. Starting annual salary of $75,000 – $125,000 based on your knowledge and experience. SCHEDULE. This position works in our Baltimore, MD office with a typical work week of 9am to 5:30pm Monday – Friday, except tax season when overtime is required. We are most interested in exceptional talent and are open to schedule flexibility (within reason) and the future possibility of working remotely (once up to speed with our company).


Review tax returns prepared by staff.
Ensure delivery of client returns and extensions in a timely manner; meet deadlines.
Train and educate staff on complex tax issues as needed.
Utilize knowledge and experience to ensure best product is delivered to clients.
Update workflow priorities to include high priority cases; manage tasks aggressively.
Respond to client concerns; perform daily client interaction and coordination of team tasks (i.e. gather required documentation/information to complete client returns).
Analyze, interpret and/or make deductions from varying facts/circumstances presented by client cases; perform research as needed to resolve client tax issues.

CPA License required; Master’s in Taxation is a plus.
5+ years in Public Accounting with strong tax review and preparation experience.
Experience managing and mentoring a team of tax preparers (individual and entity).
Extensive experience preparing and reviewing 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120s.
Experience reviewing personal property tax returns.
Knowledge of Trust and Estate taxes a bonus.
Exceptional client relations and oral/written communication skills.
Familiarity with CCH ProSystem fx® tax and engagement software is helpful.
