Job Summary

Precision Metal Works, a Bartell Global Company, manufactures metal stamped parts and components for the appliance and automotive industries. We have approximately 250 team members and two manufacturing facilities in Louisville, KY. Our facilities boast 36 stamping presses, a state-of-the-art powder coating line, robotic welding, cosmetic stainless steel finishing and numerous assembly operations.

Precision has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technicianin Louisville, KY. The Maintenance Technicianis responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment. Technicians work on both electrical and mechanical systems (robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics etc.). Entry Pay potential of $18.00 - $25.00 per hour plus shift differential, dependent on experience and education.

Other responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain production equipment.
  • Using a computer, troubleshoot a machine with PLC. Various types of PLCs used.
  • Repair, maintain, replace, install, and test electrical/electronic systems, circuits and equipment
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical manuals and wiring diagrams to aid in troubleshooting and maintenance of machinery.
  • Upgrade equipment as necessary
  • Works with each department providing necessary support to ensure day-to-day maintenance issues are resolved
  • Perform regular and preventive maintenance on equipment to eliminate unscheduled downtime
  • Notify the supervisor when items need to be ordered

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or Equivalent from 2 years College or Technical School or two years related experience or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of PLC and other Robotic Systems programming experience
  • Electrical/electrician training or apprenticeship.
  • Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components of industrial machinery.
  • Skill in reading diagrams and blueprints.
  • Ability to maintain machinery in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Must be able to read and interpret scope of work and blueprints, technical manuals and wiring diagrams
  • Ability to work independently and manage time and prioritize work responsibilities, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, adapt to change, and consistently meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time
  • Must possess excellent problem-solving abilities
