Position Summary
The Accountant, under the direction of the respective Director, assists in compiling and reporting financial information to management and owner-investors. The primary responsibility of the Accountant is ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the general ledger. They are also the primary contact to Site staff as it relates to financial transactions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure decisions made and work completed represent GOLDMARK values.
Bi-monthly review all general ledger activity to ensure transactions are appropriately coded and all activity has been recognized.
Assist in the monthly reconciliation of the balance sheet on a per property basis; specifically accounts receivable, accounts payable and security deposit liabilities.
Assist in the preparation and input of annual operating budgets for the properties.
Assist with the monthly budget variance analysis.
Monitor escrow balances held by GPM for appropriate annual funding and distribution.
Daily reconciliation of banking activity as well as input of cash transactions into the various banking systems for fraud prevention.
On a semi-annual basis reconcile petty cash for all Sites.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience, Education and Licensure:
Prior experience in accounting preferred and/or strong accounting knowledge necessary.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate to a diverse group of people.
A motivated, well-organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, manage time, as well as possess an orientation toward details.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area and volume.
Four year Bachelors degree in accounting or related subject preferred; or two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret information.
Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires or complaints.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and schedule form.
