COREWOOD CARE is seeking a RESPONSIBLE, POSITIVE, and ENTHUSIASTIC individual to be a companion/personal assistant for an individual in their 70s. The hourly rate for this position is $16 an hour. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in someone's life.
Provide companionship to the client including talking and listening, reading aloud, providing social and emotional support.
Engage client, assist with food preparation and serve food, transport client, errands, light housekeeping, laundry and washing dishes.
Accompany client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, appointments, errands, assist with hobbies, etc.
Observe and report any safety hazards found in the client's home or any significant observations regarding the client.
Observe and report any chances in the clients mental, physical, or emotional condition to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
Perform medication reminders.
Maintain client confidentiality/adheres to HIPPA requirements and agency policy and procedures manual.
At least 18 years of age.
Demonstrate compassion, responsibility, dependability and a cheerful attitude.
Ability to converse with someone in their 60s or 70s.
Must possess effective communication skills.
All applicants must pass a criminal background check.
Ability to provide professional 2-3 supervisory references.
High school graduate or GED certificate.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Possess a valid driver's license and have an insured automobile.
1 - 2 years of related experience.
Bachelor's/Graduate degree or currently pursuing Bachelor's/Graduate degree.
