EADS Distribution LLC, dba TSI Services has an immediate opening for a field service technician. This is an hourly non-except position. The field service technician should be fully competent to install, maintain, troubleshoot, document and repair a wide variety of electrical components. In particular for the electrical heat trace. The field service technician is expected to often work independently due to the diverse nature of the work. This position also requires a level of electrical knowledge; skills and abilities, including the ability to trouble shoot secondary power distribution systems, strong understanding of Ohms law with good troubleshooting abilities.

The job duties of a Field Service Technician will vary. They may include cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials and using a variety of hand tools and electronic testing equipment. Technicians will also set up and take down ladders, install equipment, make up electrical connections, installing conduit and wire, perform quality testing on installed systems while working at elevated heights in an industrial setting. You must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination and endurance and must also be able to concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also essential.

Main Requirements

Must have a “Safety First” mentality and attitude and incorporate into your everyday work ethic and routine.
Must be knowledgeable and proficient with all OSHA electrical safe work practices.
Candidate must have successfully completed a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Candidate must have successfully completed an electrical or field instrumentation apprenticeship program/Associates Degree through a technical or community college, organization or union. Alternate certifications through a recognized field instrumentation manufacturer or Service Companies will be considered.
Must have at least 5 years’ documented field service experience working at Industrial plants or facilities installing and maintaining electrical products.
Some working knowledge of troubleshooting process control and electrical circuits, testing and making field repairs electronic or electrical hardware or other related assemblies.
Be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings.
Keeps neat and organized daily records; makes verbal and written reports of work performed.
Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and when required effectively lead and direct a crew of apprentices and other workers.
Must have a positive winning attitude and be a productive team player.
Must have their own hand tools to utilize daily while working. All personal tools must be engraved with the workers name or initials. (Diagonal Side Cutting Pliers, Lineman Pliers, Needle Nose Pliers, Wire Stripper, Channel Lock Plier's 2-1/4 inch capacity, Utility Razor Knife, Nut Drivers 5/8” and ¼”:, Insulated Screw Driver Set-Philips and flat heads, Tape Measure up to 25FT, Tool Bag, Digital meter to measure voltage AC/DC, ohms, and capacitance.
Have a dependable method of transportation.
Willingness to travel to assigned remote job sites which often require working out of town for extended periods of time.
Willingness to work extended hours, weekends and holidays when required.
Ability to perform tasks which include manual lifting, twisting, bending, climbing and working in tight spaces and lift up to 70 pounds.
Must be comfortable working at elevated heights.
Working outside in various weather conditions.
Successfully complete and pass all assigned training and certifications i/e: OSAH certification.
Conduct all work in a safe and professional manor while on a job-site or while representing TSI Services.
Follow all assigned safety rules and practices.
Follow direction and complete all assigned tasks made by TSI management or the job foreman.
Complete daily and weekly time sheets and other assigned documentation.
