The NNSA Chief Business Officer will support the Sr. Vice President NNSA Ops & Programs in the development, communication and implementation of the strategic objectives and policies, in support of Business and Customer Excellence, and will provide leadership and direction in directing Programs, Projects, and Finance for the Defense Programs and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Missions. This senior leadership role will assist in implementing facility management programs and improvement in conduct of operations in nuclear and high hazard conditions. This position will serve as coverage in the absence of the Sr Vice President. Highly collaborative position working closely with NNSA team members and stakeholders. Maintain relationship with leadership to ensure successful outcomes of business initiatives and projects, which will include identifying common ground and gaining consensus.

SRNS' NNSA Operations & Programs operates the Savannah River Tritium Enterprise, the nation's only facilities for extracting, recycling, purifying and reloading tritium, a radioactive isotope of hydrogen that is a key element of modern nuclear weapons. SRTE supports five tritium and gas transfer system-related missions on behalf of NNSA: tritium supply, stockpile maintenance, stockpile evaluation, helium-3 recovery, and research and development (R&D).

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions manages and operates the Savannah River Site, a 310-square-mile facility owned by the U.S. Department of Energy near Aiken, S.C. Were also home to the Savannah River National Laboratory.
This position is on site with the customer in the Savannah River Nuclear Site near Aiken, SC.

Key Responsibilities

Safety and security are primary responsibilities in every role in SRNS. It is the responsibility of each person in the organization to maintain a safety and security focus and make safety and security an integral part of each task or to take the necessary steps to stop work if continuing the job is unsafe/unsecure or will create an unsafe or unsecure condition
This role is responsible for leading the organization to achieve business results by driving communication and execution of strategic objectives throughout the organization
Build relationships with internal and external customers within SRTE, NNSA and across the Enterprise
Maintain oversight and focus on Customer Excellence for the entire business and ensure meeting key objectives to satisfy customer requirements
Support an environment of diversity and respect
Implement and maintain a Management Operating System in all relevant areas to ensure consistent communication
Support the Sr. Vice President and the Deputy Vice President in the complete operation of the NNSA Ops & Programs: Defense Programs facility, Nuclear Non-Proliferation Mission and the varied functions within the business
Support the establishment and administration of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable orders and regulations
Provides leadership and direction to drive organizational objectives and talent initiatives
Provides executive level leadership customer interface
Other duties as requested by the Sr. Vice President

BS degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
Minimum of 8 years of progressive senior leadership experience within a commercial, government, or military operations environment
Due to contractual requirements of the customer, must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to attain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance

Advanced degree/MBA preferred
Financial acumen and business strategy expertise to make and/or recommend business decisions at the executive level
Ability to interact tactfully with all levels of management and customers and to work with stakeholders and team members at all levels of the business
Proven ability to collaborate across functions with direct responsibility for overall business success
Demonstrated ability to identify customer requirements in an ambiguous customer-focused business
Ability to define and drive customer recognized results in a government regulatory environment

Prior experience working within or supporting a Department of Energy operation
Previous experience working in a nuclear or hazardous chemical environment
Budgeting experience in government
