Versum Materials is seeking a highly motivated, creative and innovative intern student in chemistry to join our team in Tempe AZ. We strive to maintain a world class lab safety program and this position will assist in developing and implementing aspects of the program.
The internship will involve work towards the continued improvement of the safety program, including documentation content and ease of access for users. This job will require 50% time in chemistry labs and 50% office work. Time in labs will include observations, inspections and engagement in discussions with chemists. Office work will include improving safety share sites for content and ease of use. Weekly status reports and project presentations will be required.
- Candidate should have completed at least two years of study in chemistry, chemical engineering or EH&S management.
- Experience in a lab safety role.
- Experience and knowledge in development and implementation of chemical hygiene plans.
- Skilled in developing share sites.
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable engaging in discussions with chemists.
- Strong computer skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting expected deadlines.
- Self-directed and highly motivated.
- Strong work ethic.
